How do I get one baby rabbit to stay with the other four babies in the nest box?

Our rabbit had five babies together, all in the nest box. Four of the babies are staying together in the next box, in the hollow dug out by their mom, but one baby keeps crawling out and across the nest box, away from the other babies. How to I keep them together?

  1. You can put it back in the nest if you are worried. Sometimes they will wander but usually end up back together on their own. It is 100% OK for you to handle the kits.
  2. This depends on how old they are. If they are 10 days or older, they are probably OK out of the nest box, and mom will sometimes put them back in. If not, you need a taller rim ( mine is usually 4-6 in) on the opening to the box. In other words, it should be deeper. I hope that makes sense. Also, add hay or a mat outside the box to prevent exposure if he jumps out again.
