Pro-choice abortion people, why is it that even the dumbest backwoods hick farmhand knows that when a cow?

mates with a bull and gets pregnant, what she is carrying is a calf...but you don't seem to understand that when a woman has sex with a man and gets pregnant, what she is carrying is a human infant? It doesn't matter what stage of development it is in, it is a human infant. Calling it a "fetus" or a "clump of cells", or as one user called it, "flesh floating in fluid" is an effort used to dehumanize what is a human life, in order to make it easier to slaughter him or her. Of course, for the farmhand, there is no need to debovinize the little calf. He has no intention of killing it, he is looking forward to increasing his herd. It's all in the intentions...

20. GOD DAMN IT. YOU need to understand what the word CHOICE means!! In my life, I've known one woman who had an abortion...she got pregnant on accident 4 months after she had had her second child. She was alone, and decided that she would get an abortion so she could be a mom to the two she already had. This would be listed as 'for personal reasons'...but I think it's a damn good one!!

That "backwoods hick farmer" you bring up knows more about reproduction than most city kids, and that's a shame. If people don't know how pregnancy happens, don't understand the cycles and rhythms of the human body, and aren't ever given any information beyond "don't do this", then they will continue to get pregnant when they have no desire to be pregnant and no business taking care of a child. (I am speaking not just of women here, but young men as well. It still does take two.) Until and unless ALL of our young people know how to avoid getting pregnant when they don't need to be, and are taught to recognize when they are emotionally and intellectually ready, as well as physically, we will continue to have babies born into poverty, squalor, and abuse. And abortion will remain a necessary evil.

24. actually up until a certain point the fetus is lifeless and has absolutely NO brain function. I'm against abortion but I am Pro Choice. A fetus truly is just a parasite. An adorable one yes but still none the less a parasite. Not all impregnations are wanted such as rape and should be consideration in letting them perform abortions. Also it could harm a young mother, shortening her life, making it impossible to have kids in the future and resenting the baby, or possibly even killing the mother. The baby may even be born brain dead or with a lot of ailments if the girl is too young. And what you're saying is completely wrong with the farmhand as they will kill the cow in the future or torture it and make it into veal or torture it as a milking cow. But abortion is needed to a point. Personally if I was a woman then I would have the baby under any circumstances.. and if I had to then I would adopt it away and make sure to keep in contact with the baby. But a lot of people just can't deal with it at all. And a lot of times it's not their choice. Also women need to have the right to their own bodies.

Maybe, but that fetus or embryo is occupying another human being's body, and that human being has the right to decide what happens with her own body, including such issues as donating organs (or, in the case of pregnancy, her body and much of the resources it uses) to another person. Why do anti-choicers such as yourself have such a hard time understanding that women are humans too and that they have the right to control their own bodies?

30. All life is created in the womb by the Lord. As such it is a gift from God, even in the worst of circumstances God can give you something so precious as a human life. To think that the Creators work has been so devalued by the majority of folks answering questions around here is difficult for me to understand. The rape argument is weak and intellectually dishonest. Put the child up for adoption to a family that would love them. Sex has consequences. Your choices affect those around you. Legalized genocide is not the answer. For those arguing for education; allow the consequences of sex and that will be the best form of birth control there is. God Bless.
