How often do newborn pups eat?Read Description?

My neighbors dog just gave birth.She is ill in the hospital for 8 weeks, so the owners are going to spend most of their time there. They asked us to take care of the puppies.We have the solution and every thing, we just need to know How often do they eat and how much do they eat?I also need how often they eat as they grow. Thank you!

1. This cannot be a real question. Their dog is in the hospital, they have newborn pups at home and they are passing the pups off to someone with no experience to care for them so that they can be at the hospital? Get the owners to care for the pups and let the hospital care for the mother.
2. Well nice to know your neighbors are SO responsible....NOT. There is no need for them to BOTH be at the vets and neglecting the puppies that are THEIR responsibility. Another sign of their irresponsibility is to trust the health and welfare of their pups to people who do NOT know what they are doing, no offense meant, but I wouldn't have agreed to hand raise pups IF i didn't know how to do it. The BEST thing you can do for these pups it to hand them back to their owners and make them be responsible for them. If they can't handle it they shouldn't have been breeding. And btw they should have TOLD you all you needed to know or had their vet explain it to you. ETA: And Maureen is right about this sounding far fetched.
3. Kelly is the dog in the hospital or the owner of the dog? If it is the owner of the dog, do you have the pups and the mother? Newborn pups need to eat often. in the first 2 weeks of life, they eat, poop, pee, sleep, eat, poop, pee, sleep. They awake often to nurse. If feeding them on a bottle you need to feed them at least every 2 hours, night and day. I agree that this just doesn't seem right. How would an owner of a dog know the dog will be hospitalized for 8 weeks? Vet clinics/hospitals would not allow people to camp out there 24 hr a day. If the people cannot care for the pups, they should all be turned over to the humane society right away.
